Top 5 Lipsticks | National Lipstick Day

Saturday, 29 July 2017

Haven't you heard? It's National Lipstick Day. So I had a rummage through my lipstick collection and picked out my current top 5 lipsticks. From nude to red; From gloss to matte, these are the 5 lipsticks that cover any occasion. In no particular order...

Tanya Burr Cosmetics in Chic. I've never been a big fan of gloss but, maybe it's the Love Island influence, I've been wearing this quite a bit lately. However, if I'm doing gloss this is the only product I can do. It's not sticky like most glosses and it has the right amount of shine for me. These qualities with the colour of this product give a very natural finish which I am finding perfect for the summer natural look.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Matte in Moka Chic (633). Honestly, half of the first 5 lipsticks I picked as my favourites were from the L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Matte Range. Let's say I have a slight obsession because of their good quality. So, I narrowed it down to my favourite one; A warm pink nude shade. This is the perfect nude for me. When I want a matte nude, this is what I go for! When I'm not sure what shade of lipstick I should use, this is what I go for! When I want a product that I can easily re-apply on the go without too much faff, this is what I go for! Actually, no matter what lipstick I'm wearing this always goes in my handbag anyway. I think you get how much I rate it!

Chanel Rouge Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour in Sari Dore (414). The perfect summer shade! A golden orange that is not too bright and has the right amount of sheen. It's a bit of a nostalgic shade for me because my grandma used to have a lipstick in this shade when I was a kid and I loved it. Although, not sure putting a grandma in the mix sells a product. Nostalgia aside, I feel the shade lifts up my look and the formula offers the right amount of hydration but yet maintaining it's lasting powers.

KIKO Intensely Lavish Lipstick in 03. The classic red with the purple undertone that suits my complexion best. I had been looking for the perfect classic red for a long time before I found this. It has a buttery formula that applies easily and beautifully and a matte finish that does not dry your lips. Not to mention the rose gold packaging which obviously makes everything better. Sadly, this was a limited edition collection but a good dupe is the 3INA The Intense Lipstick in 305.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish in 107. I was not going to mention this for the simple reason that it is not a summer shade. However, this is more of a general top 5 which means there is no way I can leave this out. I am berry shade obsessed when it comes to winter lipsticks and this has been my all time favourite for years. A long lasting matte finish and a nice shade of berry, this is the top winter lipstick.
