Friday, 12 May 2017
Summer is just around the corner, and with a bit of luck, that'll mean long days in the sunshine, warm evening around the BBQ, and a few memorable parties under starlight that'll capture all that's great about the season. But if summer is going to bring its A game, then so must you. If you're delaying getting yourself ready for the summer season, now's the time to start. Here are a few useful tips to set you on the right path.

Starting the Routine. People come in all shapes and sizes, which is great and we should embrace it, but it does take some effort to tone our bodies; it won't just happen. Now we're in spring, it's time to start looking at exercising and getting into shape You should start small, especially if you've been inactive for the winter months. Going for a jog and then gradually increasing the pace and distance will be a good start. Once you're ready to up the ante, join a gym or make the use of the free YouTube workouts and do you exercise at home. As well as getting you into shape, you'll also be giving your energy levels a boost.

Taking Care of the Details. We're mostly of the 'hood up, covered from head to toe' variety during the winter. Not so in summer, when we'll be baring a bit more skin to the world. This means you'll want to take care of a few extra details that don't usually get exposed. Hair removal becomes one of your daily routines again unless you opt for something like Laser hair removal which will have your legs, arms and other areas smooth for the summer season. Also, a pedicure will let you wear sandals and flip flops with confidence. Additionally, after the winter you might want to shake up your hair and get a fresh cut or colouring.

Being Skin Safe. Our skin can take a bit of beating during the cold and harsh winter months, but it can be outright damaging during the summer season. If you're going to be heading out into the sunshine, make sure you have the appropriate amounts of suntan lotion to protect your skin. You'll also want to be moisturising more often as the temperature creeps up to ensure your body is properly hydrated.

Eating Well. You can get away with eating whatever you want during autumn and winter. It's time of the year when we indulge in comfort foods, and there's nothing wrong with that. But there won't be too many hot chilli dishes or casseroles from now. Now's the time to switch out to light meals, salads, fish and the like. This is the time of the year when delicious vegetables and fruits are coming into season. If you ever needed an excuse to eat healthily, well, summer is it! Your body will thank you and so will your tastebuds, as you'll be adding many new delicious meals to your repertoire.
