S/S 17 Styling a lace bralet and a denim peplum bralet

In yesterday's post I reviewed the first S/S 17 trend for the trend series. I decided to start with bralets as they are going to be quite big. We saw some designers' influence on the trend and creating an edit of different bralets you can find on the high-street right now. However, bralets have been a thing for a couple of seasons only not as big and styled differently. I had a look through my wardrobe and styled two bralets I already own. This is how you can make this trend work for you.

Bralet with peplum layered over t-shirt and styled with tailored culottes and heels

For this first outfit I took this bralet with a peplum and layered it over a white t-shirt which made it look as if it is more of a cami-top rather than a bralet. Similarly, you can layer it over shirts, dresses or anything you like really. I also styled it with the tailored culottes and a pair of heels, this look has been lifted to smart casual.

Lace bralet layered under open shirt

This was nothing new for me as it is how I essentially style all my bralets, that is under other items. Designers have put it under open jackets showing a bit of midrif, however, I'm not quite comfortable showing my midrif. So instead I just buttoned the shirt but not fully to allow a bit of a peek. A lace bralet looks great under garments.

If bralets is a trend you want to try and already own some there's no need to buy new ones, unless you want to. It's all about how you style them. On the other hand, if you want to give this trend a go but do not have any bralets check out yesterday's post to see what some high-street brands have to offer in this category.
