Skin Care by Bravura London | Countdown to Christmas

Thursday, 15 December 2016

Over the past 2 months I have been using Bravura London's Skin care routine. I very rarely talk about skin care simply because everyone's skin is different and I find hard to get myself to recommend something. Also, I've always had a love hate relationship with all my skin care products. What seems to work stops working after a few weeks.

I have always had spots and blemishes, bumps under the skin and hyperpigmentation, especially on my cheeks, from previous spots. Black heads and enlarged pores are also an issue in the T zone. The 3 exfoliator peels within this range target all of these issues. Before reading further, watch the video to see the products and a brief instruction how to use the peels.

Glycolic Acid 10%. This product is helps Acne, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, Dry skin and fine wrinkles. It does so my speeding up the natural process of removing dead skin cells and regenerating new cells. Scarring cannot be removed, but this product has made my scars softer and smoother thus less visible.

Salicylic Acid 2%. By controlling oil production, this exfoliator will help acne, enlarged pores and bumps under the skin all of which are caused by excess oil. Also, excess oil slows down the spot cycle and so this product makes sure that this cycle occurs and skin is cleared. An extra benefit is that this product boosts collagen which is exactly what you need to fight fine lines and wrinkles.

Lactic Acid 10%. If you are treating dry and dehydrated skin this is the exfoliator to go for. Unlike the two other acids, lactic acid retains moisture in the skin which is what you need if you have dry skin. It still treats acne and hyperpigmentation like the other acids. Lactic acid increases the skin cell turn over which is what helps turn dull skin into rejuvenated one.

Use. The two acids I used most were the Salicylic acid and the Glycolic acid because I never have dry skin so Lactic acid was not quite needed. Basically I used an exfoliator every other night, alternating between the salicylic and the glycolic acid. I applied both with my fingers or sometimes using a brush for more accurate application. The peel was left on for 5-10 minutes. I started off with 5 minutes and built on to 10 minutes over the month. Then I rinsed off with water and followed with Bravura London's moisturiser. As both the acid I was using control oil production in the skin, I used lactic acid once in a while to retain some moisture and ensure my skin wasn't dehydrated.

Review. Of course these are not very strong acids and being used at home you have to use with caution. This meant that it took a while before I could see any results. I did notice that spots that would develop during the day almost disappear by the next morning after I apply the routine in the evening. In terms of scarring and hyperpigmentation, however, this took longer. You need to keep at it and not give up thinking that it is not working. Being able to have make up free days without being disgusted with the way my skin looked has been something that I got to experience after starting this range.

All products are very easy to use and this helps the whole process. There is nothing worst than a product that is complicated. However, all products have instruction of use and the information on each of the products on the website is incredible. It is really good to know what is happening to the skin when using these products so I do advice to give this a read.

As I said in the video, I would not be recommending these products if they hadn't changed my skin so much. I honestly never expected to see these results. I never thought I'd get away with applying a little concealer rather than a full face of foundation. Obviously it still has a long way to go and so I will keep using the products. However, as my skin has been generally clear I did reduce the use of the exfoliators from 3 times a week to two. I assess the need as I go a long and bring back the extra application if I need it.

This can be the greatest gift you can give yourself this Christmas. You can also treat someone you know who has struggled with these skin issues. Help boost someone's confidence and happiness in their own skin. Although this has been a collaboration with Bravura London, all opinions are honest. I would never recommend products, especially these types of products, if they hadn't worked wonders on me.
