We Wear What We Are

Top - H&M
Trousers - New Look
Shoes - Adidas
Watch - Olivia Burton

If you look at pictures I took a year ago and look at what I was wearing it wouldn't take a lot to realise that my style has changed a lot. Over the past year I feel like I have grown and changed as a person. I am also now living in London and living in a place where nothing is weird has made me feel so free to express myself the way I truly want in my style.

What I like about my style now, as in the outfit pictured, is that it is simple and plain but it's all about the structure of the items. Comfort is what I value before anything else, London life does that to you. Always going for the simple yet different has now allowed me to open my horizons and create different looks that last year (where I was especially) would have gotten a couple of odd looks. The difference is that now I feel confident to embrace my physical structure and uniqueness. Which is why now I feel confident to post pictures of myself on the internet, to do youtube. Now I can see the world the way I want to see it without caring what anyone thinks.

Maybe this comes across as vain or superficial but it isn't. How can a top change someone's perspective you might ask? Well, it's all about how that top makes you feel and what it means to be wearing it and it does not take an expensive brand to get there. I do believe that we wear what we are which means it shouldn't matter what we wear the same way it shouldn't matter who we are. This is the first time I feel like what I wear truly represents who I am and I'm happy.

  1. You don't sound vain, don't worry about it! You have a really good point, what we wear is who are, and it really shouldn't matter as long as you feel great in it. I'm really glad to hear London did that for you.
