S/S 16 Trend Series | Denim, Denim, Denim

As you can judge by the title, this is all about the denim trend. Obviously, this goes beyond the everyday pair of jeans that is sort of a staple in the world of fashion trends. This actually goes beyond to a point where an all denim outfit is actually the trend. Yes, it's okay to wear your denim shirt with jeans. The exciting part about this trend is that it's not just the standard denim shirt or denim jacket. It is actually embedded in the different S/S 16 garment structure trends.

This is how the designers started this new level of denim.

Alexander McQueen expresses his denim vibes with a romantic style coat hitting two trends with one piece. Chanel and Dries Van Noten turn the latest trouser structures, Culottes and Wide Leg Trousers, into denim trousers. Using soft denim there is still the flow that both these styles feature. Chloe gives the off-shoulder, bohemian trend a twist by making the whole dress denim too. Similar to this head to toe denim look, Marques Almeida dresses one of the models in the classic over-sized coat, but this time a denim coat. Finally, Fendi takes the sporty crop-top and joggers look and makes it denim-tastic too.

Finding denim pieces on the high street is not difficult at all. In fact if you just type denim in one of your favourite shop's website you'll get endless results. However, just for the sake of it, here are some of the favourites I found.

No one said denim = jeans. You don't have to super brave to wear this trend because you don't have to wear head-to-toe denim. It's simply taking your denim to another level from the standard jeans.
