January Favourites

Monday, 1 February 2016

As some new products made it into my life this January, they stayed long enough to make it into my favourites' line-up. I haven't got many but the ones I have are hard to swap I can tell you.

For Christmas my work supervisors gave me a Body Shop Coconut Duo; Lip butter and hand cream. As I am obsessed with coconut and a huge fan of the Body Shop Coconut Range (I already own the body butter) I was chuffed to get this. The lip butter has since been with me wherever I go. It even swapped out my all time favourite Nivea Essentials Lip Balm which I have spoken about before. The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter is more moisturising and healing too. I found that at times when my lips had already started to chap, some of the magical lip butter healed it quickly.

Another new skincare product is the No7 Soft & Soothed Gentle Toner. When it comes to buying new toners I always struggle for some reason which make finding the right tone a trail and error task. This No7 product has satisfied my skin's needs so well it has made it into the favourites list. It leaves my skin quite refreshing and gentle, I can tell my skin feels nourished after use. It is also a hypo-allergenic toner which means that is perfect for even the most sensitive skins.

In terms of make-up this month I always chose easy and quick looks. You know I love me some gel liner and flick but for some reason I ditched all that for the classic pencil liner look. It all started with the purchase of a very cheap but amazing eye liner; the Rimmel London Exaggerate Auto Eye Define Eye Liner. It has a very creamy and soft texture which makes it extremely easy to apply. The sponge tip at the other end is a quick way to smudge and create a smoky look.

The other go to make-up product was my new Eyeko Black Magic Mascara Drama & Curl. I got this as a freebie with Glamour magazine which is quite a bonus since the Mascara costs £18 and the magazine only costs £2. The wand on this mascara is curved which creates an nice curled lash look. It gives a proper doe eyed look which is my favourite look in the world.

The last two favourites are not beauty products but they're most definitely my favourites. First is a grey snood from New Look that I got a couple of years ago. Since this month we got the first proper taste of winter I dived into my wardrobe and brought out this snugly scarf. Wrapping myself up in it makes the early morning journey to work less harsh than it actually is.

Last but not least is a show on Netflix. I'm talking about non other than the show Grace and Frankie. Hilarious and different this show sees to rivals having to become friends because of unforeseen circumstances. I'm sure this will be in my favourites again next May when season 2 comes out.
