Home made are quick and easy to make and they always warm the heart. The best recipes are those using few ingredients that you are most likely to have in your cupboard. This recipe is one of those and yet very tasty and different from the traditional sugar biscuit. I followed Martha Stewart's recipe making it my own along the way.

1. Preheat the oven to 250/ 280 degrees. Line a baking tray with grease proof paper,

2. Mix the baking powder and flour together in one bowl and set aside.

3. Get a larger bowl. Beat the peanut butter, butter and sugar together. You can use a beater, food processor or by hand. Either way add the ingredients little by little to make beating easier.

4. Gradually beat in the egg and the flour mixture. Combine until a dough is formed.

5. Pinch off the dough using a tablespoon. Roll into a ball and place on the lined baking tray. Place the balls 2 inches apart.

6. Using a fork flatten the balls in a crisscross pattern forming 1/2 inch thick cookies.

7. Place in the oven. After 10 minutes check the batch. Remove from the oven once they have turned a golden brown colour. [Unless you have more than one baking tray it's best to heat in batches].

8. Make a cup of tea and enjoy your peanut butter biscuits :)
