Looking Back on 2014

Wednesday, 31 December 2014
With 2015 knocking on the door I can't help but look back on the past year.  Every time a year is over I am amazed of what I've managed to go through and I have to be honest that it scares me to think of what might be in store for me.  These are the top moments I am really grateful for and moments that have made 2014 a special one.

1. Being part of Eurovision song contest TWICE -  Music is a big part of my life even though I don't speak much about it on this blog.  It has always been so and through the years it has helped me grow and express myself.  I mean, I met my boyfriend of 3.5 years through music.  Being given the opportunity to be part of a great team and stand on that stage in front of thousands of people was an amazing experience.  It has helped me build so much more confidence in myself and what I love doing.

2. Failing an Assignment - Yes I'm grateful for failure.  This year, in one of my modules for my Master's degree, I failed miserably.  I mean, the mark I got was shocking.  I am grateful for this moment for one simple reason (let the ramble begin).  I never considered myself to be a very good-in-school kind of person and I need to say I do feel like I struggled and never put my mind to it...until I started my degree.  My A-level marks were not the best out there and that was a very horrible feeling, so when I got into my Psychology course I got super motivated and put my mind to it and that got me As and Bs (which I had never seen on my report cards before).  Such results motivated me and graduated with a great transcript.  Immediately I started my Master's and the first result was this fail which I took badly.  That fail though motivated me like crazy, I knew what I wanted more than ever and started fighting hard for it.  The resit of that same module...great result.  So, yes I need that and I am thankful for it.

3. My Bestfriend's Wedding - Being a bride's maid to my lifetime friend's wedding was a special moment.  We have been through the most important things in our life together...she was there for me and I was there for her.  So, to actually walk behind her as she approaches her man to take him as her husband...such a huge step...was so special and emotional.  The best part is that even though are lives are totally different and get a lot less time together than when we were younger she still to me is one of the most important people in my life and nothing can change that.

4. Vogue My Stash - This year has been the first full year of my blog and boy it has been incredible.  I have reached so many followers never thought I'd reach in my wildest dreams and got even some sponsorship. It has become my passion, my happy place and the thing that gives me most satisfaction out of the things I do.  I can't wait to see what's more in store for this blog.

Shedding an emotional tear...farewell 2014 you have made me a better and bigger person.  Good enough for 2015.
