Making Life a Little Bit Better

Sunday, 9 November 2014
I haven't been posting for a month or so, and for the last 30 minutes I've been staring at this blank page on blogger.  But there's not much to think about, an honest explanation is the post you need after this absence.

As I mentioned in other posts, I am currently studying for a Master's degree and I also work full time.  This is my second and final year of studies thus its not busy...its CRAZY!  Very little time is left for anything else until I figure out a good time management plan, which I'm desperate for.  This puts me and my state of mind in a bit of turmoil and being completely honest my anxiety issues have been a lot more present in my daily life, which makes things harder.  I know that I'm not the only one in this situation, so the least I could do is share some of the things that I have been trying to do to make life a bit better.  [A little update of what I did some months ago].

1. Create little happy places; from doing a bit of leisure reading before I go to work to a nice warm mug of tea...I try and have those little things that make me happy and make me feel better.  Little things that will not take massive amounts of time but will make what I am doing a bit more pleasurable.

2.  Finding me time; this time is what I chuck out of my life first when things get so overwhelming.  I stop putting on make-up or having pamper nights because I feel they take time I should used to finish what I have to.  It always takes some time for me to realise that this always fires back and sometimes to feel better and work more effectively you need to allow yourself a pamper session.  So now I try and have one every week...get those Lush products out.

3. Have something to look forward to; There's a big thing coming up for me, which I will share when things are closer and more settled, that I look forward too a lot.  I know that the hard work will pay off at that time and although as event it has its own stresses, I take sometime to look into the exciting parts of it and just spend sometime looking into things and getting excited.  Its kind of what motivates me and what comforts me that at some point something great will happen. :)

4.  Gain control of my breathing; Now this is more of a physical things.  If anyone has anxiety issues or is just stressed, you know that one of the worst feelings is that fluttering heart beat and irregular breathing.  That makes me feel 10 times worst and scares me because I am aware of what usually happens when I get that feeling.  So I have downloaded this App, Relax Lite, which has relaxing tones that it will give you to breathe to.  Close your eyes, put your earphones on and put this on.  It will help you gain control of your breath and relax things.
