My Autumn make-up look #1

Thursday, 28 November 2013
This season I have a couple of different looks that I wear very often.  Today's make-up look is one of them.  I go for this look on important occasions that I want to look natural and glamorous anyway.  Even though photo may not really show the look properly (because it's a bad camera *sad*) I will try to go through the steps to obtain this look.

1. Blemish concealer. I applied the Essence coverstick (shade true nude) over any blemishes that needed extra coverage, and under my eyes.

2. Foundation. I used the Rimmel Match Perfection (shade ivory). First, I applied it with a flat brush then went over with another layer using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to obtain more coverage.

3. Contouring. I contoured slightly using the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer in the hollows of my cheeks, up onto my temples.

4. Blush.  As I wanted medium glowing cheeks I used to different blushers.  I first went in with Elf Blush (shade mauve; a brownish, rose tone) taking it slightly into the hollows of my cheeks and not so much on the apples of my cheeks.  Then on the apples of my cheeks I put a pop of Bourjois Blusher (shade Healthy mix; a natural rosy pink). Then I blended it all with a large blush brush.

5. Sealing the base. To seal everything in place I powdered my face using the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (shade tranparent).

1. Prime.  I prepped my eyelids with the Elf Mineral Eyeshadow Primer

2. Eyeshadow.  Then I covered my lid with the colour 'bow' from the Sleek Oh So Special Palette (a vanilla white colour) with a shader brush.  On the outer corner of my eyes I put some of the 'boxed' colour from the same palette (a brown tone) to darken the look a bit.  I then blended this out using a clean blending brush. Then I went over this brown colour with a cranberry shade from the Elf 100 piece Palette.  I took this colour into the contours of my eyes and winged it out slightly.  Using a blending brush I then blended it all out.  Then I highlighted my brow bone using a white shadow from the Elf palette and the dipped the blending brush in the colour 'the mail' of the Sleek palette and used this as a transition colour and blended the whole look.  Finally I went into the inner corners of my eyes with 'organza' (a shimmery light pink).

3. Eyeliner.  Using a fine liner brush I lined my upper lid with Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner.  I wing this slightly and then blended the edges of it to smoke it out and make it look smoother.  On my lower water line I then used the Revlon Colourstay Eyeliner (shade black).

4. Undereyes.  I concealed my under eyes using the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer (shade ivory).

5. Mascara. I did two coats of two different mascaras.  First I used the Maybelline Vibra-Perfection and then I went over with the Maybelline Rocket Volum' Express, on both my upper and lower lashes (I love the effect of these two together).

1. Lipliner.  Using the Masters Colors Precision Lip Pencil (shade brown; a nudish brown), I lined my lips and filled them in slightly.

2. Lipstick. I went over this using the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick (shade nude pink) for a shimmery nude pink colour.

I hope you like this look, and sorry once again for the bad photos.
